URL cleaner

Remove click IDs, campaign tags and share trackers from a link before you post it, and see exactly which parameters went and why. Everything else in the address stays as it was.

A short link such as bit.ly or t.co hides its destination until it is followed, which this page never does. To see every redirect a short or tracked link goes through and where it finally lands, use the WebTraceCheck redirect chain checker.

Trace this link's redirects on WebTraceCheck (opens WebTraceCheck in a new tab)

      What gets removed

Paste a link and the clean version appears straight away, with a list of every parameter that was taken out and what it is for. Switch to Text with links to clean every link in a message, a document or a list in one go; the text around them is left untouched.

      • Campaign tags: every utm_* parameter, plus Mailchimp's mc_cid and mc_eid, HubSpot's _hsenc and Marketo's mkt_tok.
      • Ad click IDs: fbclid, gclid, gbraid, wbraid, msclkid, twclid, ttclid, li_fat_id and more.
      • Share trackers: igshid on Instagram links, si on YouTube and Spotify, s and t on X, plus Amazon's ref segments and similar site-specific tags.

The si, s and ref names are only removed on the sites that use them for tracking, because other sites use the same names for real settings. Parameters that are kept stay byte for byte as they were.

      Cleaner questions

Will a cleaned link still work?

Almost always. Tracking parameters are read by analytics and ad tools, not by the page itself. If a site needs a parameter, add its name to Never remove.

Can it expand short links like bit.ly?

No. Finding out where a short link goes means requesting it, and this page never contacts the sites in your links. It does unwrap redirect links that carry their destination inside the address, such as google.com/url?q=.

Are the links I paste sent anywhere?

No. Cleaning happens in your browser with a fixed list of rules. Nothing you paste leaves the page unless you choose to open a link.
